Where the Battle is Won or Lost
Jeremiah 4:1 – ". . . ‘If you will return, O Israel,’ says the LORD. . .”
Our battles are first won or lost in the secret places of our will in God’s presence, never in full view of the world. The Spirit of God seizes me and I am compelled to get alone with God and fight the battle before Him. Until I do this, I will lose every time. The battle may take one minute or one year, but that will depend on me, not God. . . .
. . .
That is how surrendering to God begins. Not often, but every once in a while, God brings us to a major turning point – a great crossroads in our life. From that point we either go toward a more and more slow, lazy, and useless Christian life, or we become more and more on fire, giving our utmost for His Highest – our best for His glory.

My Personal Reflection:
Let’s face it; nobody likes to be thought of as lazy. But have you evaluated your own life lately? (Have I evaluated mine?) If you have not been compelled to get alone with God for a while, can you give a reason why? Do you think it might be because God does not want you to be alone with Him? No, that is not why. Thus, we have to come to terms with the fact that any straying from God is because of our own will interfering with our relationship with Him! The question is, how long will I let it go on?
The time is now to turn back to Him – the time is ALWAYS NOW! It is never, “tomorrow” or “later”. Waiting is part of the laziness.
We must turn back to God, just like we did when we first believed and agreed that "I am a sinner, saved by His grace!"
But do it now - ALWAYS NOW! You will never be sorry for calling on God! And He is simply waiting for you to remember Him and His gentleness, and His goodness, and His peace, which He wants us to experience!
