Romans 8:5-8 (NKJV) says:
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those [who live] according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded [is] death, but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace. Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
So am I living according to the flesh or the Spirit?
We may have heard that 1 Corinthians 13 is the "love chapter"; that we could remove the word "love" and place "Jesus" there and it fits perfectly, because Jesus is love.
I say, "I want to be like Him", but do I? I could have the mind of Christ, but do I want to do what is needed to make that happen?
Am I willing to do the work needed so that the following is true (in other words, could I put my own name into 1 Corinthians 4-6 (NKJV)):
[Kevin] suffers long and is kind;
[Kevin] does not envy;
[Kevin] does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
[Kevin] does not behave rudely, does not seek [his] own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
[Kevin] does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
