(Section on CULTURAL DIFFERENCE)
. . .
As Christians, we have had growing political involvement over the last forty years, but does anyone really believe that the Republicans, Democrats, White House, Supreme Court, or Congress will transform even one human heart? Are these civil servants supposed to be light and salt, or is that the task of the church of Jesus Christ?
Unless there is a new heart, there won’t be a new person.
Unless people are changed, we can’t have a transformed society, no matter who’s in charge.
. . .
Whether for us as individuals, pastors, or church congregations, God’s truth is the same: The gospel of Jesus alone changes people, and we must spread it everywhere. The new heart and new spirit he promised only happen when faith in Jesus Christ is preached.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To that I add this challenge for all people who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ:
When was the last time you shared the Gospel with someone?
Have you ever excused yourself from sharing the Gospel of Christ because you are “not an evangelist”?
If Jesus Christ were to assess your life at this very moment, would He see fruit being produced?
What do you consider fruit that glorifies Him?
Whatever the reason, there is something keeping God’s people from sharing His Gospel with others. Is there something that keeps you from this thing, which is not an option, but a commandment?
Let me put you at ease. You do not have to be an "evangelist" to evangelize. All you have to do is share what you know about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins for the purpose of reconciling you to God our Father, and the fact that Jesus has done this for any person you may talk to.
What if today is the only day that God has ordained for a person to hear the message of hope? What if He ordained you to bring it to an individual that you cross paths with?
Please don't be discouraged. It's easier than you think to turn any fear around. The key is simply meeting with your Lord yourself first, and first thing of the day. Meet with Him and ask Him to prepare you for anything that comes your way. I truly believe if you do this, you will effortlessly respond to the Holy Spirit's direction to do or say anything that is needful and you will know when and who to share the Gospel with.
