Now, as always, God discloses Himself to "babes" and hides Himself in thick darkness from the wise and the prudent. We must simplify our approach to Him. We must strip down to essentials (and they will be found to be blessedly few). We must put away all effort to impress, and come with the guileless candor of childhood. If we do this, without doubt God will quickly respond.

I think there's an element of desire here, like what we've talked about in the past; what I truly desire, I will go after. Think about you hobbies, your favorite past time. Could be golf, baseball, football, or at the time of this writing, hunting maybe??
What's the ratio to your prayer life and your hobby of choice, for instance? What's the ratio of your sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others to your hobby of choice? Nobody's calling anyone out here - each of us have to answer that every now and again.
A child only knows a father's love. We ought to check ourselves, to see if we've allowed our selves to outgrow the one who wants to pour into us; is He unable to do so because we're so busy with other things.
God says if we run to Him, He will run to us. When was the last time you ran to Him? When was the last time I ran to Him without having a trial or bad experience happening to me? Is God waiting for me to return to Him with the guileless candor of childhood?
Some things to think about.
