In this very short devotion, the well known Scripture from 1 John 5:14 is quoted, followed by Tozer's words from the book, "Man: The Dwelling Place of God", pages 86-87.
The Scripture:
And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He hears us. —1 John 5:14

The gist of what Tozer is saying is that "(1) We must pray in the will of God and (2) we must be on what old-fashioned Christians often call “praying ground”; that is, we must be living lives pleasing to God" if we expect Him to answer our prayers.
And based on those two conditions, "...God always answers the prayer that accords with His will as revealed in the Scriptures, provided the one who prays is obedient and trustful. Further than this we dare not go."
The conclusion is that for anyone who knows God intimately, as a result of having been redeemed by the blood of His Son, what more could we ever want beyond His perfect will for our lives?
Part of Trusting Him means knowing that anything He has or puts upon us is the very best option for our existence! He being our glorious maker would know!
Lord, in the power of Your Holy Spirit, help me to be obedient. May everything I think and do be pleasing in Your sight. Amen.
