Continuing Chapter 9, God's Holiness, picking up in the section "Two Words For Holiness".
Our Assignment:
- Read Chapter 9, God's Holiness, pp157-175.
- Read the Study Guide, Section 10 on Chapter 9, God's Holiness, pp85-89.
In addition to the above reading, be prepared to give an answer for the following:
- Why does god's holiness stand above all others attributes?
- Is it true, as Jonathan Edwards said, that "a true love of God must begin with a delight in His holiness, and not with a delight in any other attribute; for no other attribute is truly lovely without this" (page 85 in the study guide)? And why is that true?
The Study Guide Author adds, "And yet, how do we develop a "delight" in [His] holiness?"
I like the way he asks that: "How do we develop a delight...?"
So what am I doing to develop that delight in His magnificent holiness?
