Quote from Attributes of God, Chapter 7, God’s Omnipresence, p. 118:
. . . [T]he teachings of the Holy Scriptures have their origin in the nature of God. They are what they are because God is what He is. These teachings rest upon the character of God and are guaranteed by the changeless attributes of the Lord God Almighty, the Ancient of Days.
What an amazing opening statement by Tozer! The truthfulness of the Scriptures (66 books, Genesis to Revelation) are guaranteed to be trustworthy, and hinge on the fact that our great God (and His character) shall never change!!
Think about that!!!
Our assignment for June 24th:
- Read Chapter 7 – God’s Omnipresence – pp. 117-135.
- Read the Study Guide on Chapter 7 (Session 8) – pp. 65-74 (back of the book)
- Consider some questions:
- How do I react to the knowledge that God is everywhere at the same time?
- >> Does it make me cringe?
- >> Does it make double down and try to keep certain things secret that I don’t want others to see?
- Do I struggle with thinking of God's presence as geographical or “dwelling in space” (p120 paragraph 2)?
