Last time we met, we got through page 26, having just started the section called, "God Holds What He Loves". We'll pick up on page 27, continuing that section.
It reminds me of the first section where Tozer wrote about how God takes pleasure in His work, which includes His chosen - US who have answered His glorious call to grace! Why would God create anything that He didn't want to "survive"? Colossians 1:15-18 says it best:
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
Our Assignment for June 25th (if you haven't already):
- Read/review The Attributes of God, Chapter 2, "God's Immensity"
- Read/review through the "Personal Study" portion of the Study Guide, Session 3, which goes with Chapter 2, "God's Immensity" (pages 17-23)
- Read/review through the "Lesson Plan - Group Study" portion of the Study Guide, Session 3 (pages 23-25).
- (New) Think about practical examples in the Scripture of how God has demonstrated that He keeps what He loves.
We'll continue reviewing the entire chapter, a section at a time, including discussing the Group Study portion of each section together.
Never to late to start this study! The great thing about it it, is that every chapter is a different attribute! We still have 9 books up for grabs also.
