We left off on page181.
We'll pick up at the section "External Gains, Internal Losses".
Our assignment for our next meeting is in the form of two Challenges:
Both challenges are tied to Worship of God.
Challenge 1:
Consider the statement:
- It is delightful to worship God, but it is also a humbling thing; and the man who has not been humbled in the presence of God will never be a worshipper of God. That is, unless he finally does humble himself before God, such as beginning with a renewing or re-dedicating our existence, both wholly and holy, to the Lord, as a complete and fully consecrated, living sacrifice, to Him and for His use.
The challenge this: Will be a worshipper of God?
Challenge 2:
Consider Tozer's definition of true worship as summarized by the study guide pages 94-94:
- True worship--in fact, the essence of Christianity--is defined by Tozer as a believer's "ability to withdraw inwardly and commune in the secret place with God in the shrine of his own hidden spirit" (p. 181).
Given that definition, the challenge is this: Will I make time to withdraw and just be with my God in the shrine of my own spirit?
