I found this chapter simply amazing!
Roy Hession says this about the Highway of Holiness:
"So this is the highway life. It is no astounding doctrine. It is not something new for us to preach. It is quite unspectacular."
I know he simply means that in the Biblical, Eternal perspective, it is simply a way that God has provided for us to prosper us in the riches of His life; not the riches of the world but the riches that cannot be fully explained, yet when we experience them, we know them to be the very best riches available!!
I thought this chapter was not only a timely and convicting reminder of how utterly, and shamefully irritable I can be (and have been) about things lately, but I think it was just an outright fascinating reminder of this amazing promise that our gracious God has provided for us! We call our church building sanctuaries, well, “sanctuaries” or “safe places”, but they truly pale in comparison to this highway, where no evil or wickedness can enter –ONLY the holy (those sanctified by the Lord) may tread the highway!
I’m entering the highway right now—crawling beneath the cross through that low door!
Who's coming with me!?!?! It will cost comforts, rights, and all that go with our self, but men, by the authority and promises of our God, I can say, you WILL NOT be disappointed!
