1.) Read ALL of 1 & 2 Thessalonians.
- I recommend reading each letter all at once - don't be daunted by this - try to read the letters as if they were written directly to you, in urgency (which is actually true).
- As you read through these letters, remember to reflect on what the Lord is saying and make it personal.
2.) Read Chapter 1, "A Church Is Born", in the Wiersbe book, Pages 19-27.
3.) Answer the questions Wiersbe puts forth at the end of the chapter, Pages 28-29.
4.) Answer the following questions, in addition to Wiersbe's:
Question 8:
- According to Wiersbe, what are three lessons we can learn from the background of Paul's interactions with the Church at Thessalonica?
- What other lessons had the Lord put on your heart and mind?
- According to Wiersbe, what the three major purposes for Paul writing these letters to the Church at Thessalonica?
- How are these purposes applicable to the Church today?
- How are they applicable to our local fellowship today?
- Don't be alarmed if you find more than three purposes.
- This could be answered personally or as a general principle as it applies to our whole local Body or to any individual.
