Assignment:
- Read 1 Thessalonians 4 & 5
- Read 2 Thessalonians (ALL 3 chapters)
- Consider the question below, "WHAT IS THE MYSTERY CALLED THE RAPTURE?", and then answer as many of the following questions as you can, from the point of view of someone asking you the questions - how would you answer them? Would you be able to answer them? Remember how the Bereans dealt with questions and teachings put before them.
What Is The Mystery Called The Rapture?
- So, what of this mystery known as the Rapture?
- Why would you need a new body?
- How will our new bodies happen?
- How can anyone who is a Christian, who knows the Bible, object to the Rapture?
- Is it true that the word “Rapture” isn’t found in the Bible?
- What will the Rapture look like?
- How do some people that don’t believe in the Rapture, but consider themselves to be Bible-believing Christians, explain John 14:2-3?
- What is the mystery being revealed 1 Corinthians 15:51-58? Isn’t it arrogant to think that we can understand a mystery set forth by God’s Word?
- Where do we go from here, given the context of this study in 1 Thessalonians (Matthew 24:44)?
- What’s the difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming?
- What does Paul mean by a reward for loving His appearing?
- What is the Blessed Hope (Hint: Titus 2:13)?
- Why Must the Rapture Happen Before Antichrist is revealed?
- Why is there no such thing as a partial Rapture?
As you prepare for our study, ask yourself, "Is the truth of Christ's Imminent return motivating me to live a life of constant preparedness?"
We do well to remember & be encouraged that God's truth establishes us; even in our lacking & disappointments, His Word established us! His Word is Truth (John 17:17).
Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given [us] everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work (2 Thessalonians 2:11a, 12).
Amen and Halleluiah to Jesus Christ!
