- Read 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12 - I recommend reading it several times throughout the week.
- Read Chapter 3 of the Be Ready book by Wiersbe - "Helping The Baby Grow Up".
- Answer the questions at the end of the chapter.
A couple of extra challenges:
(1) Wiersbe's statement on Page 44, end of the 4th paragraph says: "When we see the characteristics of Paul’s ministry as a steward, we understand what faithfulness means", made me think of the following questions:
- What kind of steward am I?
- What has God given me to steward over?
- Am I being faithful to that stewardship?
(2) On page 49, "His walk" section, end of the first paragraph, Wiersbe states, "...Paul was not afraid to call God as a witness that he had lived a dedicated life while caring for the church family."
Challenges:
- Where do I stand on this statement?
- Can I, with good conscience, call on God almighty to witness my actions, my manner of life, my choices about how I steward over His things (no matter how big or small - they are Gods)?
- Do I dare call on God as a witness to these things?
I can hear Paul exhorting us, just as he did the Ephesians, the Colossians and the Philippians, to walk worthy of our Lord. And to the Thessalonians, and to us, I hear Paul reminding us that God is continually calling us (1 Thes 2:12) to a life of holiness and obedience, and He will give us all that we need to answer that call!
