While the holiday season gives us much happiness and reasons to be thankful (and rightly so). That is not the case for all of humanity!
This is not a time to give up, give in, or relax our dependence upon God. Nor is it a time to allow our walks with Him to slow or stray!
THIS, is a time to apply the exhortations that we have learned from God's Word over the years, and to testify of the Lord's promises, particularly, that His return is drawing near!
We may be ready, and we may even love and longing for His glorious return (2 Tim. 4:8); but that is NOT the case with all people; and sadly, it is not the case with many professing Christians.
So what are we to do?
- We are to be about our Father's business while we occupy this earth and the things that He has made us to be stewards over.
- We're to also to testify of his graciousness, righteousness, and mercy to others (Psalm 116:5, 14, 18).
- We're to testify that the same cup of salvation that we received freely (Psalm 116:13) is available to any others who will humbly receive it for themselves!
- And we're to NOT allow any man deceive us with lies about God's promises with respect to His dear Son's return for His Church (2 Thessalonians 2:3).
While we practice the "to dos' above, we'll continue in our current study, and plan to close out Chapter 11, "God's Timetable", of Warren Wiersbe's Be Ready book.
The rest of the assignment is as follows:
- Re-read ALL of 2 Thessalonians for context.
- Re-review Wiersbe's commentary, Chapter 11, God's Timetable.
- Review the questions and be prepared to give an answer for questions 6-10.
- Consider the challenges listed in the last assignment, here.
- See this post as a reference.
