I'm excited! Hopefully, the guys that were present at the last study (Jan 30) are spreading word of all our expectations (not mine - OURS), for this study in which we're about to partake.
Those expectations are that all the men attending the study should be prepared. If you are a man, and you are BLOOD BOUGHT by Jesus Christ, then our expectation of each other is that we should be diligently seeking to present ourselves approved to God, as workers who do not need to be ashamed, as we rightly dividing His Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15).
I want you to know that I will pray for you guys as we challenge each other to RIGHTLY DIVID THE BEAUTIFUL WORD OF TRUTH, in the power of the Holy Spirit of God!
We need this men!
We need more of God and less of the world.
We need more of God and less of ourselves.
I pray you will not be afraid or dissuaded from partaking in this study. You are a man of God, and you are God's property, and as such, you are His workmanship. But the choice is each of ours with respect to how deep we'll go in His Word of Truth.
All of that said, our assignment and charge for February 13th will be an introduction of sorts:
1.) Read ALL of 1 Thessalonians - don't let this deter or discourage you - just read the entire letter, as if Paul was writing it to Geneva Christian Fellowship, and he addressed it to the attention of __________________. Put your name in the blank. Make this personal.
- What is the major theme or a couple of major themes of Paul's First Epistle to the Thessalonians?
- Create an outline of the letter.
- If you've never done this before, you may use a Study Bible's outline as an aid, but try to develop your own outline.
- If you've not done this before, and you don't have a Study Bible, that's OK - here's an example of an outline. Your outline can be more detailed or less.
- As you read through this letter, reflect on what has the Lord spoken to you?
3.) In the Wiersbe book, read page 15, "A Word From The Author" - less than half a page.
I am praying for ALL the men in our fellowship, whether they attend this study or not, but if you are planning on attending, I encourage you to dig in and dig deep (or as Ken Bough says, "drink deeply, my friend").
Men, God wants to fill you! I hope you know and understand that! I you present yourself to Him, you will not cease to be amazed by His wonders!
