URGENT RECOMMENDATION - "STORM", by Jim Cymbala
STORM - Hearing Jesus For The Times We Live In
by Jim Cymbala with Jennifer Schuchmann
Zondervan, (C) 2014
This is one of those books for the time that I think we all need to read.
It reminds us of the urgency of bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost because of the prophesied coming times that Jesus told us would come in Matthew 24 and other places in Scripture; times that we are seeing unfold right before our eyes.
Pastor Mark has several copies that may or may not be out on load currently. He highly recommends this book for all of the Church.

General recommendations
The books in this list are tried and true to the Scriptures and they pack a punch in reminding us of who we are in Jesus Christ. Better have a box of "spiritual bandages" nearby as they will cut deep; but not to worry, God is the Master Physician and knows how to cut away only the unneeded, cluttering, distracting portions of our hearts with supernatural precision.
Who better to perform "open heart surgery" on you than the one who created your heart?
1. Haley's Bible Handbook, by Henry H. Haley.
This little book is packed with information and overviews of each of the books of the Bible. It is indispensable to the serious student of the Bible. This is one of the first books a new Christian should, after his or her Bible of course.
2. The Lord's Work, Done in the Lord's Way, by K.P. Yohannan.
Tired? Burned out? Weary? The Lord's work done in His way will never destroy you. Learn what it means to minister unto Him and keep the holy love for Him burning strong even in the midst of intense ministry. A must-read for every believer!
You can find this at most Christian bookstores, or on-line as a free resource at http://www.gfa.org/resource/detail/lords-work-done-lords-way/
3. The Calvary Road, by Roy Hession. Feeling pretty good about yourself? Reading just to first chapter will cure you of that. Be warned, this is a VERY convicting book and will be a VERY hard read for the proud at heart. Simply put, this little book hurts, but in a good way, because the fruit of that pain is swept away as it also points us back to the cross of the Savior, Jesus Christ. This is a very powerful book. It will also give the reader a powerful new look at what revival means.

"Agony" by Leonard Ravenhill (link)
I am not one to let my emotions drive me, but this will hit you hard, emotionally, as it digs deep into your heart and reminds you of all the lost opportunities to pray. If it doesn't move you, check your pulse....
Teaching on "Where Are The Dead Now" by Pastor Mark, shared at Wednesday Evening Bible study, January 21, 2015
Pastor Mark took a break from near the end of 1 Samuel to share about how the Bible defines Hell and what God's purpose for created Hell was for. The reason for the diversion was because the area in 1 Samuel is about when King Saul's reign was winding down and being frustrated that God wouldn't speak to him and give him direction (because of his own refusal to humbly submit to God's ways), he went to a seer and asked her to call Samuel. This opens a lot of questions, such as "Why did God allow this single instance of such a thing - allowing someone to communicate with the dead?" But also, where did Samuel come from?
Pastor Mark opens the scriptures to shed some light on the subject of where those who have died resided before and after Christ.
